INITIATED BY THE VISIONAIR FOUNDATION WITH ITS PROGRAM FONDO ROSADO, THE GOVERNMENT LAST YEAR DECLARED, SEPTEMBER 9 AS THE NATIONAL DAY FOR PREVENTING PREMATURITY.
THE CAMPAIGN 0909 IS PLACED WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE MILLENNIUM GOALS OF THE UNITED NATIONS: TO REDUCE CHILD MORTALITY AND IMPROVE MATERNAL HEALTH.

This year the initiative has been supported again by the Ministry of Health, ASSE, the Ministry of Social Development with its program INFAMILIA, the city Council of Montevideo, the United Nations Development Program and Unicef.

0909 AS A SYMBOL THAT IDEALLY EVERY WOMEN SHOULD BE ABLE TO REACH THEIR 9 MONTHS OF PREGNANCY.

Every year 4400 babies are born too early in Uruguay, this high number can be lowered by half with a proper control during pregnancy. With this in mind, we therefore decided to continue focusing on the importance of an adequate control during pregnancy.
Within the framework of 9/9, the transport company Cutcsa donated a “Pink bus” that will be situated during the whole day in front of the Ministry of Health. The minister of Health and other authorities will keep stressing the importance of taking care of pregnant women in our society, the beauty of motherhood, and the great necessity we have as a society to promote the importance of an adequate control during pregnancy in all sectors of our society.
The bus holds information on the campaign and a photographic installation on prematurity, “La Vida Bienvenida”. After this day the bus will be used as a “Moving Consultancy Office” with a new program that will be supported by community midwives to detect pregnancies in the most fragile neighborhoods of Montevideo.
Last year the bus already visited various different neighborhoods in Montevideo
